Calm Digital’s Project Director, Bianca Robinson was asked to deliver a talk about her inspirations and personal journey at First Wednesday’s on 7th April at Uncle Albert’s In Middlesbrough.
Bianca, who is a mother of 10 year old twins and hails from New Zealand, talked about the twists and turns that have led her to live, raise a family and run a business in the North East.
"Often when people meet me and hear my accent, the first thing they ask me is what on earth I'm doing here. This was my opportunity to explain my story and why I see an area that is ripe with opportunity. I know the area has seen a lot of heartbreak recently, particularly with the closure of Corus, but for me it's a case of right place, right time."
Bianca spoke about having a vision, taking action and grabbing opportunities that allow that vision to become a reality. From her early days snowboarding in Colorado, USA, to "almost" becoming America's next Top Model, running a sales office in Edinburgh and going back to New Zealand, to having twins, fronting a band, and starting on the career ladder again, Bianca shared how she is not afraid to act on opportunities that come her way. When the opportunity to finally start up a web agency with a team of five others came along last year, Calm Digital, the biggest little web agency in the North was born.
